Clear expectations, from the start
Terms of Use
These terms explain use of the CalmTech Support website and the general expectations for requesting personal technology help.
Effective and last updated:
A contact request starts a conversation; it does not book or charge for a visit. We begin with a free 20-minute phone consultation and agree on any paid support together.
1. About these terms
I’m Lily Barretto, owner of CalmTech Support in California and operator of this website, calmtech-support.com. “I,” “me,” and “my” refer to me as the owner of CalmTech Support. “You” means the person using the site or requesting assistance.
These terms govern use of the website. Please read them before submitting a request. If you do not agree, please stop using the website; you may contact me directly with questions. The Privacy Policy separately explains information handling. Using the site does not mean you have consented to optional analytics.
These terms are general website and service information, not a complete contract for every support visit. The scope, timing, location, and price of paid assistance are agreed with you before work begins. Any specific service agreement controls where it differs from this general information, subject to applicable law. The website is intended for adults; if you request help for someone else, you must have their permission to share their details and arrange assistance.
2. Consultation requests and visits
My process starts with a free 20-minute phone consultation. A “Request a call” form submission, email, phone message, or text is an inquiry. It does not automatically schedule a visit, reserve availability, create an obligation to purchase, or authorize a charge.
I’ll discuss your needs and whether CalmTech Support can help. Paid visits require a mutually agreed time and location. Home visits are an important option; another mutually agreed-upon location may be appropriate. Service is offered in Sacramento and Placer County areas, and coverage for your location is confirmed before a visit.
Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an agreed appointment. Any appointment-specific conditions must be discussed with you in advance. These website terms do not impose a cancellation fee.
The contact form is not monitored as an emergency service, and a response time is not guaranteed. For urgent medical or safety concerns, contact the appropriate emergency or professional service.
3. Pricing and payment
The current published support rates are:
- First visit: $75 for the first hour, then $75 per hour for additional time, billed in 30-minute increments of $37.50.
- Follow-up visits: $65 per hour. In-home follow-ups have a one-hour minimum, with additional time billed in 30-minute increments of $32.50.
- Initial phone consultation: free for 20 minutes.
Payment is by cash or check at the end of the visit. This website does not process payments or request payment card details. Gift certificates are available; contact me for their specific purchase and redemption details.
Rates, availability, and service descriptions may change for future appointments. I’ll confirm the applicable rate and any additional costs before you agree to paid work. A website update does not change a price already agreed for an appointment. Purchases of devices, subscriptions, or other third-party products are separate from support fees unless expressly agreed.
4. Scope of technology help
CalmTech Support offers patient, personal help using Apple devices, including setup, everyday use, troubleshooting, communication, accessibility, backups, account-related tasks, and scam awareness. The work undertaken depends on your needs, your device, and what is agreed during the consultation or visit.
Technology help cannot guarantee that every device problem can be fixed, that data can be recovered, that an account can be restored, or that a device will be free from scams, malware, outages, or future issues. Some situations need Apple, a qualified repair provider, the account owner, or another specialist. Account recovery and software features are subject to the relevant provider’s rules and technical limitations.
Help accessing online healthcare or setting up emergency contacts, Medical ID, or Apple Watch features is technical assistance. It is not medical advice, medical monitoring, or an emergency response service. I also do not provide legal or financial advice. Consult an appropriate professional for decisions in those areas.
5. Devices, accounts, and backups
Please request assistance only for devices and accounts you own or are authorized to use. You are responsible for having permission to access another person’s information, accepting provider terms, and approving purchases or changes. I will not knowingly help bypass another person’s access controls or use an account without authorization.
Tell me about known issues, important data, existing backups, and any settings you do not want changed. Before a transfer, update, reset, or other change that could affect data, discuss suitable backups and the risks. Keep a current backup of important information where possible. If you need help making one, say so before other work begins.
Enter passwords and verification codes yourself when needed. Please do not send them through this website or email. You remain in control of your device and decisions; ask questions or pause the work if anything is unclear. These responsibilities do not remove any duty of reasonable care owed by CalmTech Support.
6. Acceptable website use
Please use the site lawfully and provide accurate contact information. Do not:
- Impersonate someone, submit another person’s details without permission, or send abusive, fraudulent, or unsolicited promotional messages.
- Submit malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the site, forms, hosting, or other visitors.
- Use automated requests to overload the site or collect personal information without authorization.
- Copy or reuse site content in a way that infringes intellectual property rights or falsely suggests an endorsement.
I may decline abusive or inappropriate requests and take reasonable steps to prevent misuse. Information submitted through the form is handled under the Privacy Policy; submitting a message does not grant me permission to publish it as a testimonial.
7. Content and trademarks
Website text, design, images, logos, and other materials belong to their respective owners or are used under permission or applicable licenses. You may view the site and print reasonable portions for your own reference. Other reuse requires the relevant owner’s permission unless permitted by law or an applicable license. Openly licensed components remain subject to their own licenses.
CalmTech Support is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Apple Inc. Apple, iPhone, iPad, Mac, FaceTime, and Apple Watch are trademarks of Apple Inc. References to these products identify the devices and services for which help is offered and do not imply endorsement.
8. Third-party services and links
Netlify provides website hosting and form handling. If enabled and accepted, Google Analytics 4 provides optional website measurement. Their data handling is explained in the Privacy Policy. Devices, apps, accounts, and services you use during support remain governed by their own providers’ terms.
Links to other websites, including the developer’s website, are provided for convenience. I do not control independent websites, their content, availability, fees, or privacy practices. Review the relevant provider’s terms before sharing information or making purchases.
9. Availability and limitations
I aim to keep the website accurate and usable, but information may contain errors or become outdated. Please confirm details that matter to your appointment with me. The website and form may be interrupted by maintenance, provider outages, connectivity issues, or other circumstances. If a request does not send, you can contact me by phone or email.
To the extent permitted by law, the website and its general informational content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee of uninterrupted access, complete accuracy, or suitability for every situation. This website disclaimer does not replace any specific promise made for an agreed service or any legal warranty that cannot be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, CalmTech Support is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising solely from use of, or inability to access, this website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or consumer protection that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Responsibility for paid support is determined by the agreed service terms and applicable law.
10. Applicable law and your rights
These website terms are governed by California law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. They do not require arbitration, waive a right to bring a claim, or limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Please contact me with a concern so there is an opportunity to address it; this does not prevent you from exercising any legal right or seeking assistance from an appropriate authority.
11. Updates and contact
I may revise these terms to reflect changes to the website, services, or legal requirements. Updates will be posted here with a revised date and apply prospectively. Any additional notice required by law will be provided. Changes to these website terms do not retroactively alter an agreed appointment or waive rights you already have.
